Welcome. We're glad You're here.

What Is An End-of-Life Doula?

End-of-Life Doulas provide care by focusing on the lived, emotional, and relational experiences of dying. While medical teams care for the body, we remain attentive to the person—offering guidance, presence, and steadiness through uncertainty, loss, and transition during this crucial end of life care.

Our Purpose

Salt & Loom exists to provide compassionate care for individuals and families facing end-of-life challenges, emphasizing a supportive approach without rushing, fixing, or imposing. We offer thoughtful attention to each individual's unique belief system and experience. Many people find themselves in their final days, uncertain about how to navigate this crucial time. At Salt & Loom, we help guide, facilitate, and educate. Our work is shaped by listening, compassion, and respect, honoring the individuality of each person and the relationships that surround them.

Our Non-negotiables

Witnessing — We bear respectful witness to another’s journey with compassionate care, without trying to “fix” anything.

Dignity — We honor each person’s autonomy, values, and wishes in our end of life care approach, treating every moment with care, privacy, and deep respect for the individual and their loved ones.

Trust — We recognize that trust is built slowly and held carefully. We show up with honesty, consistency, and respect, honoring confidentiality and maintaining clear boundaries so individuals and families feel safe, supported, and never alone.

Inclusivity — At Salt & Loom, we believe in creating a space where diversity is celebrated, and every individual—regardless of background, ability, or identity—is empowered to be themselves here. Our commitment to inclusion ensures that all members of our community feel seen, heard, and supported.
